Digital TV Standards: ATSC, DVB-T, ISDB-T, DMB-T/H

In case you haven't heard, Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) is rapidly becoming the mainstay for the way we tune in to our programs. As the replacement for Analogue Terrestrial Television, the main improvements are reduced use of spectrum, better quality picture, and lower operating costs for broadcast and transmission.
One may optimistically assume that the advent of digital television and the dissolution of PAL, NTSC, and SECAM broadcast formats means that the differing broadcast standards across the globe to be a thing of the past. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as four competing variants of Digital TV technology are currently being used around the world.
Obviously, this makes it more difficult to know that you're buying the correct Digital Television Product. This goes especially for electronics resellers- after all, you need information on as many countries' respective formats as possible if you plan to sell to a wide market!
This guide to help you determine which part of the world uses which of the four DTT formats.
ISBT Fromart
In Japan the ISDB-T (Terrestrial Integrated Services Digital Broadcasting) system is standardized by ARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses).

SBTVD-T (Sistema Brasileiro de Televis?o Digital Terrestre) is the digital terrestrial television system in Brazil. SBTVD-T (ISDB-Tb) is based on ISDB-T.
China (including Hong Kong and Macao) chose DMB-T/H (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting-Terrestrial/Handheld) as DTV standard.
A system which uses an 8 VSB modulation (8 Level Vestigial Side Band) for terrestrial broadcasting, standardized by ATSC, has been realized in the USA.
The DVB Project has been realized in Europe by EBU (European Broadcasting Union), ETSI (European Telecommunications Standards Institute) and the CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization). For terrestrial broadcasting the DVB-T (Digital Video Broadcasting Terrestrial) standard is used.
